Not so fancy name, simple & peaceful seating weren’t enough when came in the food to aptly categorize the place as a hidden gem in the Northern part of the busy Goa.
This small little gem or small little open-air cafe is situated in a huge property with ample space for parking. Situated in a very peaceful setting with lush green plants and trees providing the fresh oxygen supply to keep you lively and up mood, this place is ideal for breakfast.
Out of bed – slip into your slippers and pyjamas/shorts with messy hair just head out to enjoy the sheer simplicity of the place. These are surely some of the must haves for enjoying your early morning breakfast meal in the lap of nature, named Cafe Lila.
A small little walk on the concrete under the shade of huge trees with a glimpse of this not so fuss place will make you fell in love with the place and experience with the very first gasp of breath.
They have an open sitting like many other places of Goa. A true Goan feel I would term the experience. We grabbed the table and the cushioned seating to sit, unwind and enjoy the food.
The place has in-house bakery, hence trying the bakery items were on top of my wish list. But nevertheless started with our every time favorite Omelets, and sat down to order Masala Omelet and Cheese Mushroom Omelet.
And what we got was an absolute beauty, the omelet was appropriately cooked and had right amount of salt and veggies in the masala omelet while the cheese and mushroom omelet had good amount of cheese and wonderful mushroom. The best part was the consistency of the flavors coming out of every omelet prepared. I was indeed experiencing the best Goa breakfast experience.
Along with the food we ordered fresh Watermelon and Orange Juice, which tasted right out of the nature’s bucket. Very fresh, real and refreshing.
Next came in the items out of their bakery, Veg and Non Veg Croissant. The best part about the Croissant was the freshness and love with which they were made. Fresh juicy veggies elegantly sandwiched between the layers, made the Croissant worth eating and getting up early.
And also I experienced the freshest, lip smacking and out of the world Jam Croissant. The Jam was freshly made and the croissant was soft and fluffy. Each and every bite was just orgasmic. A must have for sure.
Caramelized Onions and Mashed Potatoes were just average and can be skipped in front of the lip smacking food on offer.
My fellow foodie partner Neelaakshi Piplani just out of nowhere ordered for Mango Lassi (who drinks non-seasonal Mango Lassi). We all thought that she would experience synthetic flavors for sure because artificial flavor just cannot deceive this Big foodie but surprisingly the Mango Lassi tasted fresh and felt as if made out of real mango. I wonder how and why, but we were satisfied with the unseasonal Lassi we drank.
A WOW breakfast experience is what I got and in return I would recommend the place to everyone visiting the northern part of Goa. The staff was very courteous and patient. The simplicity and calmness of the place is worth experiencing and can’t be explained properly in words.
Thank you Café Lila for making my breakfast, a memory to cherish always !
