IMLYcious Food Journey @ IMLY Rajendra Place, Delhi

Name – IMLY – A unique name which throws back of Desi Chatpata food sound waves right into the ear upon hearing the name and simulates those chatpate true delhite tastebuds.

Concept – A 250 feet long train – Quite an innovative thought considering the size of place as it’s long and narrow. The exteriors have been done up nicely to depict a train theme which is continued even inside the restaurant.

The place is long and with beautifully done up interiors. The seating/couches are just plain and simple. At a lot of places they have tried to replicate the actual train feel by putting up briefcases and other some other stuff here and there. Without a doubt they have successfully achieved to get to the theme with minute detailing and care.

The motto of the all Veg Chatpati IMLY is to serves its customers with oomph and style, which they have seamlessly achieved by working out very unique, lively and colorful utensils. I absolutely loved their lively vivid colored glasses used in serving water. Even the cutlery has been put into a IMLY branded paper pockets and kept on the table.

The beautiful and mesmerizing journey does not even here. The presentation of their food is just way beyond anybody’s imagination. That is what I call “creativity”. I have been to a lot of restaurants and have been a spectator of a lot of elegantly presented dishes but the consistency with which these guys do it is just remarkable. Not constrained to some items but they have wacky and creative ways to serve almost their entire food item on the menu.

The food was and the presentation was alluring. All this while I could not stop my head from following the dishes from the kitchen to the tables they were served to, sometimes to find what dish is being served in the box or a can or sometimes just appreciating the thought behind all jazzy presentation. My food journey buckled up to the couch started with Pav Bhaji which was presented in a plate, with crispy Pav was diced into small pieces and tasted the lovely. Along with Pav Bhaji came in the highly anticipated Pineapple Banta Shikanji which was colourful, relishing and left me asking for more. The next junction was the Vada Pav which were small cute Vadas with refreshing garlic and mint chutney (Lip-smacking indeed). The chole bhature tasted authentic and appropriately masaaledaar.

IMG_4762 IMG_4787   IMG_4768 IMG_4795The sandwiches served with mint chutney looked mouthwatering and were surely worth a bite. The neatly diced Idli were crisp and bathed in masala to give that favourful punch. Dahi Puchkas served in rotating wheel just brought out the child in me and started playing with the ferris wheel . Chinese chat was a complete audience of the food journey from China to Delhi. With all the mouthwatering delicacies around, I would say it was a Vegan foodie delight to be part of their launch event.

Service was too slow and unresponsive to our orders, possible reason could be the overwhelming turnout for the event. This was only section I found them lacking with huge scope of improvement.

One word for my entire Chatpati food journey with IMLY was – IMLYCISIOUS

With their out of the box concept and interesting food items on offer they surely have all the right qualities to compete in the Humungous Delhi Food Arena. With more mushrooming outlets over some coming months IMLY indeed seems promising.

Chinese Whisper – They have dedicated parking space and valet parking service too J Menu has food items for all the major food hubs pan India. Affordable prices and lip smacking food is for sure a pocket friendly and a tummyfull experience you would like to experience for sure.
