One of the biggest Barcelos opened its door in Gurugram in the hustle bustle of Sector 29 market just recently. The interiors are unlike the Khan Market and Hauz Khas Village outlet, innovative and happening.
Like there is a place for every generation and to cater to every mood. Starting from very pleasing outdoor seating to very jazzy couches and high chair seating in the basement to the really unique cut out car seating option. The ambiance is quite a pleasing one.
They serve one of the exceptional Mezze Platters, the soft pita bread, falafel and the four dips (Hummus, Peri Hummus, Baba Ganoush & Tzatziki) is a must must order if you are a Lebanese food fan.
The Sangria’s are the USP of this place. I tried the “Madeira Peach Sangria” which is a mix of pomegranate juice, orange flavored vodka with orange dices with red wine as the base.
Another of the signature dish that we tried that day- Chicken Trinchado with Rice. Now this was a total surprise, the flavorful rice with colorful bell peppers, onions, tomatoes along with a gravy which was full of diced chicken cooked and simmered in spices. I never thought the two simplest of ingredients- Rice & Chicken could do wonders apart from in a biryani, but indeed to my surprise it was fabulous. The portion was apt for two as a main course.
We also ordered the very famous Colorful Mini Sliders which had Black Burger, Red, White and the Brown one. The patty was no doubt full of veggies and spices but the flavors the bun had gave that extra edge to the burgers. White one being my favorite, as the first bite it will feel bland but soon it tantalize your buds and you will feel two striking flavors-Coconut & Mango…..Loved it!!
Berries Cheese Cake gave the most perfect ending to my lunch. The slice of cake tasted real well but the presentation was a little too straight for an outlet like Barcelos, which indeed is popular for its Espetada’s and Molecular Drinks.
The whole menu is the same as other two outlets, starting from their signature Peri Peri Chicken to the Colorful Burgers and the 21 varieties of Sangria. The signature dishes are kept in the menu here as well but there is an addition of Colorful Wraps which were not available that day so we couldn’t try it.
Overall a great food experience!!
Happy Eating peeps 🙂
