Unearthed and literally did. This lil beauty in the not so foody part of Delhi (East Delhi), atleast if you compare with the glitz of HKV or Rajouri. Aptly named as Cafe Wink literally winks its way through one’s heart through its food and ambience.
Situated near DAV Shrestha Vihar this one is situated tad amidst posh locality and can be tricky to found through Google Maps, but would recommend one to trust their human intelligence too while navigating their way to this place. Google maps took us to the back side of the market which had no parking, so be cautious about it.
The light colored plastered walls and a hustling bustling partially open kitchen and winking smiley are some of the noticeable factors about the place. With nice peaceful surroundings and outdoor seating this place is worth a visit in the chilly winter evenings. In addition to this they also have a cute (because of the colors the place is done with) and neat interiors. It has been appropriately done with interiors. Unlike many upcoming and in-vogue cafes, they have kept it simple with clean paints, wooden and iron furniture.
Surprise me !! Were the words echoing while I entered the cafe as the Zomato ratings had already set the bar high for them.
We sat and waited for somebody to come and attend, only to realize there was no waiter and this is supposed to be order thyselves and get your food on the table. Slight disappointment there, but I do not mind taking 5 steps and going to the counter to order my food. The brighter side, the order counter in almost at the start of the kitchen, so one can easily look up and enjoy their dishes being made right in front of their eyes.
We took our seats and ordered for KitKat & Oreo Shake about which I had already heard a lot from my foodie friends, specially the KitKat shake.
The KitKat shake actually came with KitKat diametered over the shake served in a small jar. The shake was out of the world, true to my expectations and felt as if I am actually having KitKat in a liquid form. Every sip brought along KitKat chunks and made me fell in love with it.
The Oreo shake came with a similar presentation but with a Oreo lazing over the thick Oreo shake. After having shake we discussed to have this place as our new shake adda.
It can’t just end with shakes and of course we ordered for
Chessey Baked Nachos – I would rather prefer to call them colorful cheesy nachos, as it looked appealing to the eyes and taste buds. With bell peppers, tomato, onion and sweet corn and mandatory cheese spread over hump of nachos tasted wow. The best part was the super crispy nachos. This one indeed goes to one of the finest nachos, I have had in my food cruise
BBQ Tikka Pasta – My friends constant nagging about not having Italian pasta and my determination to have one landed us at BBQ Tikka Pasta. As described by the staff it was penne mix sauce pasta with complete Indian flavors. The spicy tikka sauce clearly did the magic with its tangy, Smokey and BBQ flavors. Mushrooms, broccoli, olives and other veggies worked wonders to contribute to an amazing pasta experience
Exotica Garlic Bread – Looked alluring on the other table and ours too, but lacked the taste which should have been there. Came topped with Olives, Jalepenos, onion and cheese, but even the toppings failed to provide that wow punch. Just average
Must visit for all the amazing shakes, tasty & promising food, peaceful outdoor sitting, pocket friendly prices.
We saw the food winking, smiling and alluring us but then we have to leave just to come back with more experiences from our EnticingFoodCruise
